OUR HISTORY
Until 1902, Crooksville, Ohio was without a bank. All merchants, manufacturers, businesses, and individuals who had banking business had to visit banks in the surrounding towns. This they did with great inconvenience and risk. Local business men counseled together and decided that Crooksville should have a bank of its own.

  • The doors of The Crooksville Bank were opened to the public in December 1902, commanding the confidence of the public.
  • During the summer of 2006, the interior of the bank was extensively remodeled to reflect the original 1900’s decor.
  • In January 1988 The Crooksville Bank expanded into the Zanesville market with a South Zanesville Office located on Maysville Pike.
  • To better reflect our expanding market and dedication to serving our local communities; in July of 1992 our name was changed to The Community Bank.
  • On December 29, 1997 the West Zanesville Office opened for business on Dillon Falls Road.
  • Our fourth banking office, located on NorthPointe Drive in North Zanesville, was opened on February 11th, 2003.
  • Three years later, the Bank opened its fifth banking office located on East Pike. The East Office opened on June 2, 2006 allowing The Community Bank to meet our goal of better serving customers by having a banking office on every side of Zanesville.
  • Our sixth  banking office, located at 113 North Fifth Street in downtown Zanesville, opened its doors on November 6th, 2007. This office currently serves as the administration offices of the Company, as well as housing Community Financial Advisors, a division of The Community Bank and The Community Mortgage Company, a subsidiary of the Company.
  • Our seventh and newest banking office in Frazeysburg was opened on April 22, 2009.  The Frazeysburg Office is located at 10 West Third Street.

As The Community Bank continues to grow, we pride ourselves in maintaining the personal service that customers have come to expect from their local, independent bank.
